ITINERARY:
7.50am Depart Cork Tourist Office (Grand Parade)
8.00am Depart Kinlay House Cork (8.50/9am Sunday)
We enjoy a scenic drive across the beautiful lush lands of the golden vale of Cork to historic Limerick City, Setting for blockbuster novel and movie - ‘Angelas Ashes’, View King Johns Castle and the river Shannon. We continue via County Clare to the west coast of Ireland.
We spend 1.5 hours at the world famous Cliffs of Moher one of the world’s great natural attractions – you can enjoy a hike, a relaxed walk, all the time gazing in amazement at this geological and natural beauty.
We depart from the Cliffs of Moher for a stop at Doolin village where you may wish to enjoy a traditional Irish pub-lunch (optional)
We depart Doolin and visit one of the most unusual limestone surfaces anywhere - the lunar landscape of the Burren. It's the only place on Earth where Arctic, Alpine and Mediterranean flowers grow side by side. If it’s the right season you may see one of the 26 different types of orchids that grow here right on beautiful Galway Bay. Botanists, geologists and archeologists among you will love this special place!
We stop at Bunratty Castle, a truly glorious monument to military architecture (Ireland's most photographed fortress) for the chance to grab a coffee and refresh yourself. You can easily imagine Norman Knights, Gaelic warriors and Jousting Chieftains at this hallowed spot. A great photo-stop.
We leave Bunratty Castle for the pleasant return drive to Corks fair city on the banks of the river Lee, arriving back at 6.30pm approx (7pm Sunday).

Top 10 cool facts about our beloved CLIFFS OF MOHER!
1. Over 1 million visitors annually - our most popular day-trip (obviously the entire 1 million dont come on our buses, we wish!)
2. As of June 2009 the Cliffs were in 5th place in the Seascapes section of the "New Seven Wonders" competition
3. The Cliffs of Moher have been featured on film numerous times, including in The Princess Bride (1987), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009),[12] and in the Tentacles of Doom episode of Father Ted (1996).
4. One of our top Guides - Paddy Murphy - once caused a stir at the cliffs dressed in a leprechaun suit
5. On the same day an apparently famous German stunt man almost gave us hfeart-failure by doing one wheel jumps on a BMX at the top of the precarious Cliff!
6. The majority of Dusty Springfield's ashes were scattered here.
7. The cliffs consist mainly of beds of Namurian shale and sandstone, with the oldest rocks being found at the bottom of the cliffs.
8. t is possible to see 300 million year old river channels cutting through the base of the cliffs.
9. BIRDS!! An estimated 30,000 birds from 29 species have the much sought after address of 'Cliffs of Moher, Western Ireland'. These include the noted Atlantic Puffins, which live in large colonies at isolated parts of the cliffs and on the small Goat Island. Also present are hawks, gulls, guillemots, shags, ravens and choughs.
10. World surf champ Kelly Slater surfed here this year in the new Irish surf movie 'Wave-riders', much to the delight of the tiny surfing fan-club within the ranks of our Irish tour guides.

We will pass through Limerick. We will stop at King Johns Castle which is located on Kings Island, on the banks of the river Shannon. It was originally built in 922 it was used as a base to raid the length of the river Shannon. We will have a photo stop at this historic site.
Our highlight of the day is a stop at the most spectacular cliffs on the planet,
(214m/700ft) Irelands number one natural tourist attraction! rugged, romantic and awe inspiring we take you to the edge of the world!
We will also stop at Poulnabrone dolmen. Poulnabrone-known in Gaelic as the hole of thesorrows. this tabletop tomb dates back to 3200BC.
Excavation found at least 22 adults and children were buried under this momument also found were golden pendants, weapons and pottery. this
is Ireland¹s finest tabletop tomb.
We will travel through the Burren: a limestone and fossil Lunar like rock formation landscape stretching 320km and hugging our wild atlantic coast. the amazing landscape has underground lakes and rivers and is home to 70% of our native flora. of it a famous English man once said "not enough water to drown an Irish man, wood enough to hang him, or earth to bury
him".
Our lunch stop is in the beautiful fishing village of Doolin. We also see the surf town of Fanore, as we travel around Black head - a most beautiful coastal drive, with spectacular views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay.
We take a photo and rest stop at Bunratty Castle dating from 1425 the most authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. It is stituated on the orginal
viking trading camp which dates back to 970AD and presently the home of the great celtic banquette. We stop here for some lovely photos
before returning to Cork.
