Day 1: Dublin to Belfast

We collect from central Dublin hotels from 09:00. A unique tour lies ahead, with a 2 hour drive to Belfast on the brand new ‘Peace Highway'. On our way to Belfast there will be afew different and interesting stops. The first stop will be at the haunting ruins of Monasterboice. You will have the opportunity to see a round tower form the 10th century and understand how our ancestors used it to take refuge from the Vikings. Likewise, you can also see and touch some of the most unique Celtic crosses in Ireland which were hand-carved by Christian monks in the 9th century. We then arrive in the beautiful city of Belfast, where we visit the top attraction- The Titanic Experience (entrance included). You will be brought back in time on a fascinating journey to understand the history of the Titanic, giving you a very distinctive and unique experience. You will learn and understand the full process from the conception in the 1910s though the production and launch to the notorious maiden voyage and the disastrous demise. With sufficient free time in Belfast, we recommend the optional £8.50 Black taxi tour which will provide you with a historical and political journey of the city. The tour is highly recommended by Lonely Planet. You will visit the peace wall and the murals, the Falls and Shankill roads, you will also learn about the city's troubled history and how it was resolved. Belfast is a great place for shopping as the prices are lower than in Dublin, therefore use the free time to enjoy lunch and shopping in the downtown area! We also recommend that you visit the City Hall, Botanic Gardens, Queen's University, Belfast's leaning tower- Albert Clock and the Crown liquor saloon. We will overnight in historic Belfast where there is a vast selection of bars, restaurants and music venues to suit all tastes.

Day 2: Belfast - Giants Causeway- Dublin

We leave Belfast this morning and drive through County Antrim to the North Coast of Ulster. The first stop will be in the captivating town of Balintoy and the Dark Hedges. It's home to the famous Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge which is also known as the set for the well-known TV series Games of Thrones. You will have the opportunity to take the exciting and breath-taking rope bridge to Carrick-a-Rede island for fascinating views of Scotland. The 30-meter-deep and 20-meter-wide chasm is crossed by a rope bridge which is one of the highlights of the tour and a must see! The UNESCO Giant's Causeway has been frequently described as ‘The Eighth Wonder of The World' and you'll immediately understand why. The Causeway is composed of approx. 40.000 hexagonal basalt columns, formed by a volcanic eruption about 60 million years ago, making for a spectacular natural attraction. Celtic legend tells us that the Causeway was actually built by the Giant, Fionn MacCool to allow him travel to Scotland across the water. This afternoon, we'll head back to Dublin, stopping for refreshments en- route. Arrive back in Dublin @ 18:00 approx. after an excellent Irish experience.
