Situated only 20 minutes from Cork City Centre, the Midleton Jameson Whiskey Distillery is well worth a visit on your next outing in Cork. It is Ireland’s best known Whiskey Distilleries and you can even take guided tasting tours. It is easily accessible by train or with our famous Hopper Bus Day Tour! Whether you’re in Dublin, Cork or Limerick, as always, your first port of call should be our Day Tours Office.
The distillery, or as it is also known, The Jameson Experience, is regularly voted the top tourist attraction in County Cork on Tripadvisor. As well as a beautifully restored distillery, it has an expansive public garden which visitors are free to walk around. Once you arrive you will be shocked to find how much of an art form brewing whiskey is to the brewers and coopers of Midleton. We highly recommend the guided tasting tour, available in multiple languages. The tour will start with a short film on the history of Jameson and the distillery. Afterwards your guides will take you on a tour of the grounds of the old distillery. We should also remind you that when you take our Hopper Day Tour, not only will you be dropped at the gate of the Jameson Distillery, but you will also receive a discount on entry. You will struggle to find a better deal than that ;).
After your distillery tour, we highly recommend that you relax in the distillery bar and sample a glass of Jameson Distillery Reserve, before you get back on the Hopper Day Tour bus which will bring you to Fota, Cobh, Blarney or the Cork City Gaol. Or if you decide to stay in Midleton, consider having a meal at the Malt House, Jameson’s restaurant in the heart of the distillery. They are open from 10 AM and it is even a great place to enjoy a coffee before you start your guided tour. A testament to the quality of the restaurant is the fact that it is frequented just as much by locals as it is by tourists.
If you have any queries about the Jameson Experience about our Hopper Day Tour, please don’t hesitate to pop in to our Day Tours office in Cork City at Bridge Street and Washington Street.
