Once everyone is aboard at 07:30 we'll head for Northern Ireland just two hours drive from Dublin. Sit back and relax as we journey through the rolling green countryside either side of the M1 highway. An exciting day lies ahead!
As we approach the Antrim coast you'll be met with amazing vistas along the Causeway coastal route. A patchwork of green fields and beautiful white sand beaches give way to the North Atlantic ocean and Rathlin island offshore.
The highlight today is the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Giant's Causeway. Ancient volcanic activity resulted in thousands of columns of granite and basalt forming in spectacular formations from the hills to the sea. According to Celtic legend, this maginficent natural pathway has supernatural origins and was created by the giant Fionn Mac Cumhaill (Finn McCool) so that he could cross the water to nearby Scotland without getting wet! Enjoy amazing vistas of the Scottish coast on clear days. Without a doubt, this is one of Ireland's most beautiful places. Your entrance fee (GBP 11.00) is included in the price of this tour.
Our next stop is Dunluce castle. Perched high above the beaches at Bushmills the castle is considered one of the most romantic locations in all Ireland. During your one hour visit (entrance included) you'll learn of how part of the castle collapsed into the sea during a banquet in the 1600's. It is said to be haunted since! Your entrance fee (GBP 5.00) is included in the price of this tour.
Before we return to Dublin, we'll enjoy approximately one hour in downtown Belfast, Northern Ireland's capital. We'll most likely drop- off & collect around City Hall which is right in the centre (depends on operational considerations on the day). You'll have plenty of time for refreshments and to soak up some of the atmosphere and architecture of this imperial city. If you'd like to tour Belfast in depth, you really need at least one full day - perhaps check out our Belfast city tour from Dublin.
After a perfect day of exploration and fun in Northern Ireland, we will arrive in Dublin around 8:30 pm, with plenty of time for evening meal arrangements, entertainment or rest.
