Sit back and enjoy a truly scenic journey through some of Ireland’s most unspoiled landscapes. Departing from Tralee, we travel along the R551 and N86, where lush farmland gives way to views of the Slieve Mish Mountains and the wild Atlantic coastline. Joining the N70 and then the N22, we pass through rolling hills and woodlands en route to the charming town of Kenmare, where we pause for a short break. Continuing on the R569 and N71, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic as we enter the breathtaking Beara Peninsula. Along the rugged R572, expect sweeping sea views, craggy headlands, and quiet fishing villages before we board the Bere Island Ferry for a 15-minute crossing.

You’ll have 60 minutes of free time on Bere Island—perfect for a coastal walk, taking in the island’s rich military history and peaceful Atlantic views or for refreshments at O'Sullivan's Bar. After the return ferry (15 minutes), we begin our ascent of the spectacular Healy Pass via the R574, a twisting mountain road offering unforgettable views over lakes and valleys. We then descend along the R571, passing windswept hills, grazing sheep, and remote homesteads. A final short stop in Kenmare allows for a quick refresh before we journey back to Tralee via the N22. A day packed with island charm, mountain drama, and some of Ireland’s most unforgettable scenery.
