Itinerary
Christmas Morning - Depart Dublin City
We'll meet right downtown as the bells ring out over the empty streets of Dublin city.
We begin with a brief overview of Dublin and then turn south towards the Wicklow Mountains.
The suburbs of south Dublin will be looking charming with Christmas wreaths on doors and Christmas trees lighting many windows.
Chat with fellow travellers or sit back and enjoy some peace as the Garden of Ireland unfolds before you.
We'll pass by Sugarloaf Mountain and descend through Ireland's highest village Roundwood on your way to magnificent Glendalough.
Glendalough
Enjoy 90 minutes at leisure in wonderful Glendalough, the Valley of Two Lakes.
Explore the monastic city ruins with its celtic crosses, round towers, St. Kevin's chapel and so much more. Keep an eye out for the wildlife including native red squirrels and deer!
Wicklow mountains
If you are a fan of the Hollywood Blockbusters 'PS I Love You' and 'Braveheart' then you might recognise some of the spectacular wilderness we drive through. ! You will understand why Mel Gibson chose the Wicklow mountains to be the Highlands of Scotland and Glendalough to be the spot for the wedding scene. And then of course there are all the romantic scenes from 'PS I Love You', this is where Hilary Swank met Gerard Butler for the first time...you never know who you can meet!
Return to Dublin
We return to Dublin, delighted with our wonderful Christmas morning half day tour and with great photos and memories to last a lifetime. You will return back to Dublin approximately 12.45 depending on traffic.
