Your premium small group tour is operated by Elegant Irish Tours, our 5 star daughter brand. You will enjoy a luxury Mercedes- Benz touring vehicle with maximum 25 passengers.

The tour begins with a pick up from the cruise liner terminal in Dunmore East. Tours depart 30 minutes after the first tender arrives dockside.

(Note: if for operational reasons your ship is not able to dock, your tour will be refunded completely).

The tour begins with a drive to Kilkenny, the medieval capital of Ireland situated on the banks of the river Nore. Here we spend time discovering this lovely city with highlights including the St. Canice's Cathedral and of course the Kilkenny Castle (Norman Castle) dating back to 1195 (€12 entrance included).

We will have time to visit Kilkenny design center where we see some traditional arts and crafts, and enjoy a fine lunch with great selections of all types of traditional and artisan foods (not included).

We head back to Waterford where we see Reginald's Tower, the Viking Triangle and end up in Waterford Crystal factory and take an amazing tour where we can see the glass blowers in action crafting the fine pieces (€18 entrance included).

We return to port 1h before departure after a wonderful day spent touring this region, and hopefully we will meet in the next port!

  • Pick up from port

    We will collect you in style in a luxury Paddywagon Coach. Your guide shall be waiting with a sign ready to take you off on your marvelous journey. We shall greet and meet and then inform you of the highlights of the day, the various options for lunch and some of the great shops where you can purchase Irish arts and crafts as we drive off on this trip that shall provide memories to last a lifetime.
  • Kilkenny

    Arrive in Kilkenny, once the medieval capital of Ireland back in the 11th century. Situated on the banks of the river Nore, enjoy the picturesque windy and cobblestone streets.

    You have plenty of time see the Cathedral of Saint Canice and visit Kilkenny design center where we see some traditional arts and crafts, and enjoy a fine lunch with great selections of all types of traditional and artisan foods (not included).
  • Kilkenny Castle

    Built in 1195. by the 1st Earl of Pembroke, Kilkenny castle is still in its original 13th century condition. Filled with legends and stories, the castle was a symbol of Norman occupation. In 1967. it was sold for merely €60 to the Irish state and has been a public site ever since. Explore the castle and its beautiful gardens, see where the knights have once ruled and hear the stories behind its walls. We include entry fee to the castle (value €6 pp)!
  • Waterford

    We continue the day by returning to Waterford and exploring the oldest city in Ireland. Founded by the Vikings in 914 A.D. the city has many historic buildings and heritage that makes it a beautiful destination to visit. Famed by its crystal factory, Waterford has a prominent role in Irish tourism. From Viking festival to large food festivals, there are plenty of activities to satisfy any taste. You will have time to visit some of the city's highlights such as the Reginald's Tower, Cathedral, The Three Sisters quay and much more!
  • Waterford Crystal

    Since 1783. Waterford Crystal has been manufacturing one of the finest crystals in the world. Founded by the Penrose brothers, Waterford crystal has been operating for more than 200 years. You will see the glass blowers at work, crafting the fine pieces. Enjoy this amazing tours, a perfect way to end your tour!

  • Return to port

    We return to port minimum 1h before the ship's departure, and hopefully we will meet you again at your next stop in Ireland!
