Itinerary

  • DAY 1: Dublin - Connemara - Galway

The tour heads straight through the spiritual beauty of the bogs of Allen in our midlands towards county Galway's Connemara region on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Our first stop will be either the historic silver mines of Glengowla (April 1st - October 31st) or the charming village of Cong (1st November - 31st March). At Glengowla there is a fascinating underground mine tour and displays of traditional farming methods including sheepdog display. Meanwhile Cong was famously the film location of The Quiet Man and features quaint streets and 12th century ruins.

Your tour continues through the remote valleys of Connemara including ma'am cross and beyond to Rossaveal (views of Aran Islands) and Spiddle (a Gaelic speaking town).

Connemara is considered to be one of the most beautiful wildernesses in Europe, this is the true rugged beauty of Ireland you have come to see! Experience dramatic mountain scenery that has been the setting for countless Hollywood blockbuster movies.

Onward to Ireland's cultural capital - Galway. After you have checked in, we recommend the free walking tour of Galway that will show you the city's historic and cultural side. Galway is known for its pubs and atmosphere, join the locals for a fun night filled with traditional music and local delicatessens.

NB: Please note that Glengowla (in season) is closed on Sundays and the time will be allocated elsewhere to maximise your experience depending on weather etc.
  • DAY 2: Galway - Cliffs of Moher - Dublin

After a relaxing morning and a hearty breakfast, we will pick you up at 10 am from your accommodation and begin our day driving around marvelous Galway Bay, famed in song and story.

Our first stop is the fascinating lunar landscape of the Burren. This site is a true geological and botanical wonder, as it is the only place on Earth where Mediterranean, Artic and Alpine flora grow side by side. We continue our adventure and make a short photo stop at the majestic Corcomroe Abbey. Located in the north of the Burren region of County Clare, Corcomroe Abbey is an early 13th-century Cistercian monastery. The abbey is noted for its detailed carvings and other rich ornamentation, which are not commonly found in structures from this period.
The Wild Atlantic Way takes us to Ireland't number one site - Cliffs of Moher. Rising 120 metres (390 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean, the Cliffs give you a fantastic view of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay, the Maumturks and Twelve Pins mountain ranges to the north in County Galway, and Loop Head to the south. You will spend 1.5 h at this site of nature's beauty.
We continue our drive and make a last photo stop at Bunratty Castle, 15th century tower house in County Clare, Ireland.
We return to Dublin at approximately 20:00 with memories that will truly last a lifetime as this past 2 days have been an inspiring insight to the beauty that is Ireland.
