Choose from one of two convenient central Dublin collection points (O'Connell Street, Dublin 1 or College Green, Dublin 2). We'll be on our way at 09:00 and enjoy a picturesque drive across the green farmland of Ireland to bohemian Galway.
All going smoothly, we expect to reach Galway city by 11:30 approx.
You'll enjoy approximately 90 minutes in Galway. There's lots to see and do, but the city is quite compact. Take a stroll through the JFK Memorial Park at Eyre Square, enjoy an ice cream on the Salthill Promenade or pick up local specialities such as Claddagh Rings (Thomas Dillon on Quay Street) & Aran Sweaters (O'Maille's on High Street).
Those who wish to sit back and people watch can relax over a pot of tea and scones at Cupan Tae (8 Quay Lane), a quaint Irish tea shop. For those of you who have had a late one in Temple Bar, these guys also do a mean Full Irish Breakfast including sausages, bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, tomatoes and soda bread with Kerrygold butter!
Alternatively, if you're seeking a “hair of the dog that bit you” you could do worse than wash down a half dozen Galway Oysters with a Guinness at John Kehoe's Pub (22 Dominick Street Upper).
Sit back and relax as we drive the short distance from Galway to Lisdoonvara along the Burren coastal route. Take in amazing vistas of the limestone countryside as we pass through ancient parishes such as Clarinbridge, Kilcolgan, Kinvarra and Ballyvaughan.
The Burren Smokehouse is a family-run business that was set up in 1989 by Birgitta & Peter Curtin. Its quality became known very quickly and they now supply smoked salmon to restaurants all over the world.
The visitor centre showcases the traditional way of smoking Burren Smoked Salmon, Trout and Mackerel.
Their passion for the highest quality produce has attracted the attention of retail icons such as Fortnum & Mason, Harrods and Selfridges in London. Back in 2011, Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed the Smoked Irish Organic Salmon during her historic State Dinner in Dublin Castle. Now you'll have a chance to savour these delicious specialities too!
We arrive at the world famous Cliffs of Moher (approx 16:30), one of the world's great natural attractions where you can enjoy a relaxed walk and breathtaking views. The Cliffs of Moher are 66% as tall as New York's Empire State and stretch for almost 10km. Forming part of the edge of Western Europe, this landscape really is a "must see" on a visit to Ireland. You'll enjoy 1.5 hours at the Cliffs of Moher, which is just the right amount of time according to the 90,000 passengers who travel with us annually! Your entrance fee (EUR 8.00) is included in the price of this tour.
We'll depart the Cliffs of Moher at 18:00 approx and make our way back to Dublin city. There will be a short stop in Birdhill, Co. Tipperary for a refreshment and restroom break. All going well, we expect to have you back in Dublin for approximately 21:20 in time for late dinner seatings and relaxation.
